The Mangler is a 1995 horror film directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written by Hooper and Harry Alan Towers (under the pseudonym of Peter Welbeck). The film is based upon the Stephen King short story of the same name, which appeared in his inaugural short story collection Night Shift.
This is a B-movie through and through. Terminally flawed, but, if you let yourself, you can have a lot of fun watching it. Levine and Englund are both over-the-top and captivating, the plot, script and score are simple and stupid, but in a way that renders them unimportant.

Horrific, strange and a book no reader will ever forget, The Mangler is a classic Stephen King story that steps out of the realm of possibility yet clings to the horror of the familiar. Its themes of industrialism and demonic possession are unlikely, but they work. I hate to say it but I still enjoyed the 1995 film more.
